My name is Lauren. Almost all of my friends call me LB, despite my mother's most dire attempt to choose a name she was certain could not be shortened. I am a recent University of Tennessee college graduate trying to keep my head above water while searching for my "big girl job." I received my Bachelor's degree in public relations and just returned to my beloved city, Nashville. Born in Laguna Beach, Cali., my parents moved us here when I was two. I am a southern girl to the core with hints of big city all over, and hope to share a bit of my inspiration with others. I'm not super comfortable yet with solo photographs (something I'm sure I will get better with, having this blog), so here is a picture of me and my two best friends.

What is the Pendleton Theory? While brain-swarming for a blog title, I wanted to pull from words and names that were personal and meant something special. I didn't want to name it after myself (that just seemed a little bland), so I began looking to my family for inspiration. Pendleton is my little sister's middle and mother's maiden name. I thought it had a nice ring to it and it belongs to two people I greatly admire; it was perfect.
Now, where does the Theory part come into play? This blog will be sprinkled with different types of lifestyle tips, but the core is to show women how to enjoy fashion on a budget. My mother, the Pendleton, had a pretty rough upbringing. She was forced to support herself at a very young age, and will probably laugh when she finds that she has been my main inspiration for a fashion blog because she has never been one to put a huge emphasis on material things. With that being said, she has always dressed well and was quite the fashionista back in the day...and she learned how to do it on a SERIOUS budget. Her theory is, why pay the ridiculous price tag when you can easily find a less expensive alternative. Thankfully she has passed on this thrifty shopping theory to me.
So there you have it. The story behind the Pendleton Theory.
