Monday Funday

For most people, Monday is the most dreaded day of the week. The weekend is over and you know you actually have to do all the things you "didn't get around to" the week before. Ugh.

Fortunately for me, the jewelry store I work at is closed! Monday has now become my new reboot day. I had a nice, relaxing morning. I slept in till about 8 am, took a Pure Barre class at 9:40, then proceeded to lounge around the house, catching up on laundry and some long overdue self-maitnance.

Here are a few of my favorite things from my Monday Funday:

1. Over the weekend I broke my Michael Kors sunglasses. Luckily, they weren't a huge loss since I purchased them when I had my employee discount. {best discount ever} On Sunday I popped into Target and picked up this fab pair. I love the matte tortoise shell.

2. I had read about LĂ„RABARs on the many health blogs I follow, and was excited to try them after scooping up a box in Kroger last week. I am officially on the bandwagon. Try them. The end.

3. Working in a jewelry store, a huge part of my job is modeling the engagement rings for customers. I begrudgingly decided a polish could no longer wait. {for the record my nails looked like I had put them through a desert paper shredder. ew.} I hate painting my own nails because I'm incredibly impatient and never wait long enough for them to dry. However, I'm on a budget and my Monday Funday was the best chance I'd have for some non-smudging downtime.

I decided to jazz it up with a "party nail." I snagged this cobalt blue shade, Blue Jeans, at Urban Outfitters a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. The party nail color is OPI's Designer...De Better. It's not perfect, but for a self-mani it ain't too shabby.

4. So...I almost peed myself when this beauty came in the mail today! {no shame} I had been drooling over it every since I saw it beaming back at me through the gorgeous J.Crew window display. Unfortunately it was waaay out of my price range. Utterly crushed, but not surprised.

About a week ago, I was scrolling through Etsy and discovered a shop that sold fun statement jewelry. I found the exact same necklace and their prices are completely amazing! It was pay day, so I decided to treat myself...and I am sure glad I did!

Football Time in Tennessee...or anywhere

As many of you southern belles out there know, this past weekend was the start of SEC football. Having just graduated in May, the memory of proudly clipping my sorority pin onto my best, spirited game-day ensemble (that I probably spent days planning in advance, only to throw on something COMPLETELY different at the last minute) was simply too fresh in my mind to pass up. Naturally come Friday afternoon, I hopped into my car and raced up towards Big Orange Country to cheer on my Vols, despite our recently rough track record.

It can be pretty tough trying to look like a real person, while not-so-secretly sweating as though you were tailgating in Satan's armpit. However, thanks to my ever stylish BFF, Lacey, I had the perfect light-weight dress to help me beat the heat.

I loved the jagged chevron, creating the perfect balance of classic and boho.

Twinning in our Ray Bans. P.S. this is my adorable boyfriend (who would totally kill me right now if he saw this)

Anyways, this is my first unofficial post. I'm still trying to work out the kinks and become ballsy enough to actually get some outfit posts up in here.
